Wednesday 26th June - walk **** – The Dip to the Deben including a picnic – sunny and hot.

We had a surprise gift delivered yesterday, a wildlife camera for our garden, Mag set it up and put it out, it worked as it captured her legs in the dark last night but then we got a pic of our resident hedgehog wandering about at 4.30 this morning:) Mag will put it near the water and food we leave out and hope to get some video tonight, how exciting! With the hot weather continuing we had no plans after yesterdays bike ride, Mag got up early to do her compost bins down the side of the house, one of her favourite jobs while I still managed my exercises in the hot back garden, a black yoga mat is not a great idea as it burns your feet! Mag had boiled some eggs so I made some sandwiches and we decided to head out for a picnic, I drove to The Dip and parked in the windsurfing car park around 12.30 and it was surprisingly hazy out to sea with a nice breeze from the NE. We set off towards Felixstowe Ferry again with wild flowers everywhere, it is very colourful here at the moment:) There was several people enjoying the lovely weather in their beach huts and on the beach but it was nice and quiet at our spot where the River Deben enters the sea! We enjoyed our yummy egg sandwiches while watching several yachts sail in, no problems for them today with the tide high! Well rested we ambled back along the beach with me paddling, another quick trip to Lidl and home for a cuppa and a lovely cream cake. Its back to watching Youtube videos as there is yet more really boring football, we will be glad when the terrible European champs is over! The forecast is still looking OK for a couple of days of foiling, I have my fingers crossed!
